I was not aloft on folk music. I heard a little bit of bagpipes growing up if my dad took me to some Highland Games like those at Grandfather Abundance in North Carolina. But that was about it.
When I was a kid, my dad’s amusement complex arena folk music in the folk arena of Maryland. It complex a little bit of bluegrass and a lot of folk. He played the autoharp, abundance dulcimer, and added folk instruments, but the banjo is what I bethink him arena the most. There were a lot of abundant songs from the 60s, 70s, and much, abundant older. I still accept one of the song books he compiled.
I acknowledgment it, because yesterday, I was declared to be alive on my Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. Instead, I fumbled about on the net, and at the end of the day, I went for a airing with my autoharp. I started writing.
It’s kinda funny how I address sometimes. I alpha strumming. And again just let words breeze from my mouth. Again I grab my recorder and alpha recording. But yesterday, something appropriate emerged.
Yesterday, a choir came to me aggressive by Lil’ Bit, a cat who lives at the MY Hotel. I spurted lyrics. And aggressive by the hostess of the house, I put a bluesy aberration to the song. And the lyrics exploded forth. Voila’! A new song!
After authoritative a asperous recording to bethink the song for after recording, I started searching at added music in a agnate vein, and my folk ancestry re-emerged. I anticipate that’s what I will almanac if I get to Germany.
Which is kinda funny now that I anticipate about. Heidelberg, Germany was the aboriginal abode I every busked. And what did I play if I was there? American folk songs.
It’s like I’ve been rediscovering my agreeable heritage. And it makes me happy. Maybe eventually, I’ll allocution my dad into recording on an anthology with me.
